What a great photo!! One of our January weddings were Steve, Mel and their 3 beautiful children, Tyler, Alicia and Rylie.

Mel’s older brother went to school with Steve.  Steve was 16 and Mel was only 10 at the time. Their families became very close friends. It was many years later when Steve returned to Melbourne from living in far North Queensland to find a little girl who had grown into a beautiful young woman. There was an instant spark. Due to their age difference Steve chose to ignore his feelings for Mel.

Many, many years later Steve and Mel were on the same sporting team. After some time it became apparent that Mel also had the same feelings, this was after a gentle kiss hello. They then became good friends and Steve realised those initial feelings he had all those years ago had never gone away.  Steve’s hidden love for Mel had always been there. Sometime afterwards they started seeing each other. Mel was 23 and Steve was 29.

Steve proposed to Mel 4 years ago, after being together 12 years.  He got up early for work as he always did, except he was not going to work that day. Dressing in a suit, Steve spread the petals of a dozen roses he had bought the night before. All that was left was to wait for Mel to wake. Mel entered the room and Steve got down on one knee to propose. By the look on her face she had all but given up on the idea that Steve would propose to her.  Yes, she was surprised, but stunned at the same time.

Our couple came from Victoria to marry on a beautiful Gold Coast beach!

Best part of the day from Steve’s point of view: Seeing my lovely wife for the first time in her wedding dress.

Steve said “I would like to thank Elope to the Coast. Without their help this day would not have been possible.  We would recommend them to anyone considering marrying on the Coast. Nothing was too much trouble and their bubbly personalities made us feel like we had family celebrating the day with us. A simple thank you to you all is not enough for the memories of the day you helped us create, it was unforgettable.”

They were a wonderful family.  Steve liaised with Elope to the Coast for a few months before the wedding, Mel had no idea what plans he had made.  The day turned out to be a great success with one happy family leaving the beach.  Best wishes always to Steve, Mel and children.
